Serious PPL Music Artist @serious_voiceny Steadily climbing up visibility radar with "Live"

Brooklyn,NY-Holy hip hop recording artist Serious (@serious_voiceny) continues to climb up the visibility charts with her song live. Her video has been featured on major holy hip hop sites such as DaSouth.com, Holyculture.net and z180radio.com, to name a few. Currently you can download "live" for free and watch the complementing video on http://holyculture.net/ by clicking on this link: http://holyculture.net/blog/2011/10/11/video-serious-2/

Serious wanted to give up on rapping for Christ as many people around her often said it' wouldn't work out. But a watershed day came in the 90s when she flew to Johannesburg, South Africa to minister with her church at the time. She was at an evening evengelical meeting, sitting in the stadium chairs, waiting for others to minster in song when a reverend called her out and said "you're going to get on stage and sing and rap for Christ." In obedience Serious immediately prayed asking God to anoint her to minister to the young people in attendance. God used her mightily on that day. Wheel- chair-bound individuals were "poppin their chairs" and others were set free to praise God.

Serious has several songs on itunes including the "Yes" song, which was performed in Africa, Dat Doctor, Live, and in the coming weeks will release a mixtape called "Are You Serious."

Eminen vs. Lady Gaga vs. JC

According to a survey taken by a social media website, Rapper Eminem is more liked than Lady Gaga on FB!

You're probably saying "who cares" but I think more people care because they are actually hitting the like button.

According to http://www.allfacebook.com/ Eminem has 8,000 more fans going gaga, pun intended, than the Lady!

Here's why I care. I'm surprised no one has created a Jesus page for FB. Perhaps it does exist, if not, I think someone should create one. A page that promotes nothing but gospel and gives fans, Christians, non-Christians and those wondering about being Christians an opportunity to like.

Another point before I digress: if Jesus really did have a page how many followers would he have? I would image that he would be the biggest superstar of them all! His numbers are likely to shake even Michael Jackson's. #imjustsaying.

Buju Guilty!!

The Verdict is out! Buju Banton has been found GUILTY. I have to say as a journalist, it's about time they made some kind of a decision.

Buju I'm sorry because I actually like your music, well, some of your songs, but this one! I don't know.

When I heard that he was caught trying to buy drugs I shook my head. Today I still shake my head, because we have to start being real models for our children to emulate.

I really don't want my child to emulate a person who allegedly bought drugs. I don't mean to sound antiquated but I will.

Whatever we feed our children that's what they will in turn give back to us. If we let them listen to all kinds of music, watch violent shows with people cursing and disrespecting each other, they will become that kind of person. For that, I do not apologize.

As adults we all need to be responsible for our actions. We can't keep sweeping it under the rug.

Now I'm taking it to the Bible--which says "whatever is done in the darkness will come to light." The light of Buju's ways is shining brightly. Sorry Buju you have to pay.
According to reports, Buju is likely to face 20 years in prison.

Pray that the brother will learn from his errors! Pray for our artists!

I'm here to tell you that I'm releasing my first single in 9 days on the rock hero show in Philly @10pm. You can't miss this one.

That night all the new followers on Twitter will get a treat. They will be able to get a free download of the song. But only that night!

Gospel Rap and the church

Good morning folks! I just had a conversation with two people. One, a much older pastor who is open to rap music that promotes the gospel and the other, a young person who encourages the down-play of this genre.

I happen to be a Gospel Rapper as many of you know. When I was 12 years old I wanted to be a mainstream rapper like Queen Latifah and MC Lyte. Then I got saved. I am now a grown woman with lots of responsiblities and a 9 to 5 job and I am still rapping. Today I do it for the Lord Jesus Christ!

I say that with conviction and emphasis because oftentimes people want to denigrate this gift called rapping. But let's remember history. Before satan (lower case because he deserves no respect) was kicked out of heaven he was the lead worshipping angel. Our Bible also tells us that he was decorated and was a leader, not a follower, for the Lord. He had authority! He had an important role! that was to worship God with everything he had. In fact, music in the Biblical sense originates with God. He is the creator of everything. It was the moment that he, satan, wanted to get the glory, and shine that he saw the boot from God.
The moment music is no longer used for the glory of God and does not exhibit whatsoever things are lovely, pure, of good report, of praise, it is not of him and should be put aside.
Now back to Gospel Rap today. If it promotes God it is good. It is promotes the world it is not good. Now shouldn't Gospel rap be given a place in the church. Let's remember that God has been known to use anything to praise himself. He can take even the very foolish things to confound the wise....

I'm just saying...
